About Harris County Court Docket

Harris County dockets and case files are divided among the District Clerk, County Clerk, trial courts, justice courts, municipal courts, and statewide search resources. Choosing the correct custodian is often the hardest step. This private reference site organizes the official portals, addresses, telephone numbers, and request routes so readers can reach the office that actually keeps a particular record.

Why We Built This Site

Texas generally allows access to public docket and case information, but Harris County has no single clerk for every court. The District Clerk maintains district civil, family, felony, and county-criminal records. The County Clerk handles county civil and related files. Justice, municipal, probate, appellate, and federal courts have separate routes. A docket is the running list of filings, parties, settings, orders, and outcomes. This site brings the verified search paths, case-number guidance, contact details, and request steps together without claiming to be the official record.

What You Will Find Here

  • Docket guides: how criminal dockets and civil dockets are searched and read in Harris County
  • Court dates and settings: how to read the court calendar and confirm a hearing date or setting
  • Case lookups: how to run a case search by party name or case number through the statewide portal
  • Record requests: how court records and certified copies are requested from the clerk of court

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site with no affiliation to a Texas court, clerk, or agency. Its limits are clear:

  • We cannot pull an official docket sheet or case file for anyone
  • We cannot change, reschedule, or reset a court date or hearing setting
  • We cannot remove, seal, or amend a case on any docket
  • We cannot issue certified copies of any docket, order, or court document
  • We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
  • We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or setting listed on this site is current right now

Only the clerk of court or the trial court that heard the case can issue an official or certified copy of a docket sheet or court record. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.

Search Partners

Outside providers power search boxes found on some pages. Each provider controls its service, prices, results, and privacy terms. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports site operations. Harris County Court Docket does not determine a partner's charges or guarantee its results.
